According to Thai News Agency, police officers from the Intree 7 unit of the Provincial Police Region 7 led forces to surround the area and the row of rooms that were rented next to each other in the Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom Province, to rescue the hostages and arrest Mr. Niwat. The perpetrator broke into the rented room of a 42-year-old woman and shot her dead in front of her 11-year-old son in Mueang Nakhon Pathom District at 6:00 a.m. He then escaped on a motorcycle before picking up a woman who was a som tam vendor in the alley of the factory and taking her hostage on the second floor of the rented room.
Officers brought the mother and aunt of the perpetrator to persuade him to surrender and release the hostages. They entered the row house and allowed the mother to speak to the perpetrator on the phone once. The perpetrator threatened to shoot himself and the hostages. As of now, the perpetrator has not been contacted again.
