According to Thai News Agency, the second leg of the Shopee Cup final against Selangor FC was set to be a decisive match for Buriram United. Having won the first leg away with a 1-0 score, Buriram played the second leg at their home ground on May 27, 2026. The match began with Selangor taking an early lead in the 18th minute when Yahir Basha scored, leveling the aggregate score at 1-1.
Buriram United quickly responded, showcasing their prowess by equalizing in the 28th minute. Theerathon Bunmathan's deep ball found Supanat Mueanta, who skillfully flicked it into the net, putting Buriram ahead with a 2-1 aggregate score.
In the second half, Buriram extended their lead in the 55th minute. Following a corner kick, the ball reached Theerathon, who volleyed it from outside the penalty area, scoring another goal and increasing Buriram's aggregate advantage to 3-1. Despite Theerathon receiving a red card towards the end of the game for a foul, Buriram maintained their lead.
