Bangkok: Buriram United dominated the final stages of the eFootball Thailand Pro League 2026, reinforcing Thai esports football as a strategic marketing platform. They secured their 8th Console and Mobile championships, generating over 8 million views and garnering over 9 million total views.

According to Thai News Agency, the eFootball Thailand Pro League 2026 (ETPL 2026), held from March 28th to July 5th, 2026, concluded with a grand finale amidst an atmosphere of pride, celebration, and camaraderie within the Thai esports football community. This year, Buriram United further solidified their strength by winning both the Console and Mobile championships, etching their name in history by achieving a record eight titles.

The closing ceremony was honored by the presence of Ms. Nittaya Kerdchantuk, Director of the Professional Sports Commission Office, Sports Authority of Thailand, and Mr. Ekaphon Polnavie, Secretary-General of the Football Association of Thailand. The event featured a full-scale lighting and sound display, under the concept of celebrating victory, unity, and the growth of Thai esports football into a stage with potential in sports, business, and marketing.

Ms. Nittaya Kerdchantuk offered encouragement to the athletes and congratulated the organizers on the success of this year's competition. She stated that the Sports Authority of Thailand is committed to promoting and supporting the growth of Thai esports in a tangible way, creating opportunities for Thai youth and contributing to the country's economic value in the future.

Mr. Ekaphon Phonnawi, Secretary-General of the Football Association of Thailand, stated that the association has continuously supported and promoted esports athletes. He views the eFootball Thailand Pro League as an important platform that provides opportunities for young people to showcase their potential and serves as another mechanism for developing new athletes into the industry. Furthermore, the competition helps increase the popularity of football and makes Thai League clubs more well-known among younger generations, a crucial fan base for the long-term growth of Thai football. It also provides a new channel for creating marketing opportunities and effectively connecting sponsors with Thai League clubs.

From a business and marketing perspective, Mr. Athiwat Pisitphan, Esports Business Operations Manager at Plan B, revealed that the eFootball Thailand Pro League 2026 competition achieved outstanding success, generating over 8 million views and more than 9 million total views throughout the season. This reflects a strong audience base, the continuity of the community, and the potential of ETPL as a marketing platform capable of delivering tangible results.

This success stems from the integration of three key strategies: collaboration with all 16 Thai League clubs, bridging the world of esports with the genuine football fanbase, bringing competitions closer to viewers and fostering a stronger connection between fans, clubs, athletes, and brand partners; leveraging the power of KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) from the gaming and football industries to expand the audience to new target groups, including gamers, football fans, and younger generations who primarily consume content on digital platforms; and designing content that meets the needs of partner brands, enabling sponsors to communicate with consumers effectively, at the right time, and in a context that truly interests them.

Another highlight of this year is that many athletes from the eFootball Thailand Pro League 2026 have qualified for the eFootball Open Championship 2026 World Final, a global competition, which will be held on July 25-26, 2026 at Siam Paragon.

This global competition is a significant opportunity to showcase the potential of Thai athletes and the Thai esports industry to an international audience. It also helps elevate Thailand's image as a continuously growing esports hub in the region. This success not only reflects the quality of Thai athletes but also demonstrates that ETPL is a competitive ecosystem capable of developing youth, creating career paths, and paving the way to the global stage.
