Bus Overturning on Asian Highway Causes Major Traffic Disruption and Injuries

Bangkok: Bang Pa-in: A bus overturned, injuring 13 people and causing a traffic jam on Asian Highway stretching over 5 kilometers. At 9:30 AM today, a bus transporting employees overturned at kilometer 5 in Khlong Chik Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The bus lay on its side, blocking three lanes of traffic. Thirteen people inside the bus - two men and eleven women - were injured. Emergency personnel rushed to the scene to provide assistance and transport the injured to nearby hospitals.

According to Thai News Agency, an inspection of the vehicle revealed significant damage to the front, indicating it had veered off course and crashed violently into the bridge railing before overturning. The bus driver stated that he had picked up employees from the Rojana 2 Industrial Estate to take them back to their accommodation after work. Upon reaching the accident site, which was on an uphill section of the bridge, the bus lost control. He tried to regain control but was unsuccessful, causing the bus to veer to the right, hit the bridge railing, and overturn. Initially, police officers photographed the scene as evidence and are preparing to summon the driver for further questioning to determine the true cause of the accident.

The accident caused a traffic jam on Asian Highway 5 kilometers long. Authorities had to coordinate the use of large tow trucks to remove the bus from the area in order to quickly restore traffic flow.
