Bus Overturns on Mountain Road in Vietnam, Resulting in 7 Fatalities

Yen bai: A passenger bus overturned on a mountain in Vietnam, killing at least 7 people. Vietnam's state news agency, VNA, reported on Saturday that a bus overturned on a mountain road in Yen Bai province in northern Vietnam, killing at least seven of the 19 passengers on board.

According to Thai News Agency, a 29-seat bus carrying a charity organization was descending a hill when it veered off course and overturned, resulting in extensive damage. Local officials said rescuers managed to save 10 survivors, while the remaining passengers are still trapped under the wreckage. Authorities have been deploying heavy machinery and rescue equipment since early this morning to urgently investigate the incident.

Initially, officials suspected the accident was caused by a brake system malfunction while driving downhill. However, police, military, and local authorities are still mobilizing to assist victims and conduct a thorough investigation to determine the facts.
