Phuket: The Cabinet has swapped Governor Sembei, moving him to deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Interior, and promoted Chotinrin to governor of Phuket.
According to Thai News Agency, the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Nirat Pongsitthaworn, Governor of Phuket Province, to the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior. This reshuffle also includes the appointment of Mr. Chotinrin Kerdsum, who was the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, to replace Mr. Pongsitthaworn as the new Governor of Phuket Province.
This decision comes in the wake of a conflict among Ministry of Interior executives in Phuket Province. The Ministry of Interior had previously issued an order on the evening of June 15th, which involved the transfer of two Deputy Governors of Phuket Province to other provinces due to their involvement in the conflict.
