Central Investigation Bureau: Central Investigation Bureau police have apprehended a 25-year-old man on Phahonyothin Road in the Rahaeng Subdistrict of Mueang District, Tak Province, for the illegal smuggling of seven Myanmar migrant workers into Thailand. The suspect admitted to receiving a payment of 14,000 baht for his involvement in the operation. According to Thai News Agency, the arrested individual, identified as Mr. Kesem, was charged with being aware of the illegal entry of foreign nationals into the Kingdom and providing assistance to evade arrest. The arrest took place at the km. 523-524 marker on Phahonyothin Road, highlighting the ongoing efforts of authorities to crack down on human smuggling networks in the region. Mr. Kesem confessed to transporting the seven migrant workers from the Ban Thong Fah mountain area in Ban Tak District, using a specific route to evade detection. The workers were initially picked up and tightly packed in a vehicle before being dropped off at a discreet location al ong Highway 104, near a pavilion approximately one kilometer from the Tak Provincial Prison. The migrants were instructed to hide in the nearby forest, where another vehicle was scheduled to collect them. This operation highlights the complex methods employed by smuggling networks to facilitate illegal border crossings.
