CFO Annual Conference on Capital Markets 2026 Aims to Drive Economic Growth through Enhanced CFO Networks

Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is organizing the CFO Annual Conference on Capital Markets 2026 to build networks and drive organizational growth. The event, taking place at the Professor Sangwien Intravichai Auditorium at the Stock Exchange of Thailand, is a joint effort by SET and the Federation of Accounting Professions under the Royal Patronage, with cooperation from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Thai Listed Companies Association, and the mai Listed Companies Association.

According to Thai News Agency, the conference aims to enhance knowledge and experience in capital markets, finance, accounting, taxation, and relevant regulations and standards for Chief Financial Officers (CFOs). Mr. Assadej Kongsiri, Director and President of the SET, emphasized the role of CFOs as central to driving organizational and business growth. He highlighted the initiative to establish a CFO Club, facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration among CFOs of listed and soon-to-be-listed companies.

Mr. Vinit Silamongkol, President of the Federation of Accounting Professions, stressed the importance of continuous professional development for CFOs. He pointed out that the conference provides a platform for CFOs to exchange expertise and experiences, ultimately supporting the growth of companies and organizations.

Dr. Santithar Sathienthai, Assistant Minister of Finance, delivered a keynote address, discussing the transition from an "Efficiency First" era to a "Resilience First" era. He outlined Thailand's strategic focus on security, stability, and creating new economic engines, emphasizing the need for energy security and the transition to clean energy as a national priority.

Dr. Santithar also highlighted Thailand's position as a Trusted Connector Economy, attracting significant foreign investment despite regional challenges. He noted the country's stable macroeconomic position but acknowledged the need for new industries to spur economic growth. The government's three-pronged strategy includes short-term economic support, transitioning to a low-carbon economy, and maintaining fiscal discipline.

The conference comes amid global economic uncertainties, including the ongoing US-Iran conflict affecting energy costs. Dr. Santithar emphasized the urgency of energy transition and the need for Thailand to leverage opportunities in high-tech industries, such as sensors and optical systems, to strengthen its economic structure.

The government is monitoring the situation closely and is prepared to implement additional measures to support the public and maintain economic stability, with a GDP target of 2.5% expected to sustain the overall economy.
