Chaiyanok Reaffirms Commitment to Public Benefit in Thailand AI Passport Project

Bangkok: Mr. Chaiyanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, has addressed concerns surrounding the Thailand AI Passport project, emphasizing that the initiative is designed to benefit the public. The project, which has encountered resistance from various sectors, is under close scrutiny by the minister, who is committed to ensuring its successful implementation.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaiyanok has been actively monitoring the situation, particularly since the live parliamentary questioning revealed numerous constructive opinions. These insights are seen as valuable inputs that could potentially enhance the project. Mr. Chaiyanok reiterated his dedication to equipping the public with resources that improve the efficiency of the Thai population. To this end, he has tasked the Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society and the Permanent Secretary with collecting all pertinent information essential for the project's development. He also mentioned that updates on the project's progress would be shared in due course.

In response to inquiries about possible revisions to the Terms of Reference (TOR), Mr. Chaiyanok expressed openness to improvements that could maximize benefits. He assured that all improvements would be considered to ensure the project's success.
