Bangkok: Chanjaem Suwanpheng, a Thai national boxer and Olympic bronze medalist, has successfully advanced to the gold medal match in the SEA Games boxing competition after defeating a competitor from Myanmar.
According to Thai News Agency, in the women’s welterweight (66 kg) boxing semi-final held at Chulalongkorn University, Chanjaem, who secured a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, faced Kay Thyne from Myanmar. Chanjaem maintained a dominant performance throughout all three rounds, delivering clear punches to both the face and body of her opponent. Her efforts resulted in a decisive 5-0 victory, earning her a place in the final against Liu Yu Worden from Singapore.
Following the match, Chanjaem expressed satisfaction with her performance, noting it was her first fight in almost a year since the Asian Championships. She acknowledged the need for some adjustments and committed to giving her best performance in the final against her Singaporean opponent.
