Bangkok: Vee Violet is upset that the drama surrounding the SEA Games opening ceremony has damaged her reputation as an artist due to a mistake by the production team. The opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games (SEA Games 2025) on the evening of December 9, 2025, saw much criticism of the performance “IGNITE THE GAME,” particularly the part by singer Violette Wautier, who sang with Golf Fucking Hero and Tong Twopee. Many felt her singing was off-key and her performance was subpar. She later explained that it was a serious technical error; originally, a lip-sync system was agreed upon, but a malfunction occurred during the performance where the microphones were accidentally turned on through the speakers without her prior knowledge.
According to Thai News Agency, Violette Wautier clarified the reason for the imperfections in her performance, stating that her first reaction was shock and disbelief. She felt it wasn’t what it should have been, and given her abilities and technique, this shouldn’t have happened. She expressed deep regret. However, her second thought was, “What happened? It’s already happened. What can I do? What should I focus on?” She also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support she received and decided to move past the incident and focus on the positive. She realized her mistake after the performance, admitting that on stage she was very confident, believing her sync was perfect. However, as an artist, sync isn’t something she wants to publicly admit to, but since it happened, she wanted to defend herself and explain what happened. She explained that on stage, she only heard the pre-recorded music; she didn’t hear her own live vocals. The live sound wasn’t broadcast at Rajamangala Stadium, so she assumed she was
syncing and continued singing, not intentionally trying to imitate the lyrics. She only reviewed the performance afterward to assess the situation. She was surprised to hear that her mic was only turned on for the live stream. Ultimately, they had the management discuss how to resolve the issue. The production team did apologize, and she understands that nobody wanted this to happen.
Vee shared that when asked if she seemed very down about what happened, she replied, “Not really. Did I seem that down?” She sees it as her initial reaction and is more angry at herself for not singing live. At least if it wasn’t good, it would have been her talent. But that wasn’t the plan from the start. In the end, they respected the situation and agreed to lip-sync. The organizers have clarified things, but she thinks they should move on. She doesn’t want to find fault anymore because what happened has already happened, and nothing can be done about it now. She plans to focus on herself and her feelings. Vee was surprised at her own resilience, joking around the next day. She believes it’s better to take care of herself and thank everyone for their support.
