Bangkok: In the latest survey conducted by the NIDA Poll, Chatchart Sittipunt continues to maintain a significant lead in the Bangkok gubernatorial election, securing over 70% of the votes.
According to Thai News Agency, the NIDA Poll, a respected public opinion survey center at the National Institute of Development Administration, released its findings on "The Second Stretch of the Bangkok Governor Election 2026." The survey, conducted between June 15-17, 2026, involved 2,000 eligible voters aged 18 and above across all 50 districts in Bangkok. The results indicated that Mr. Chatchart Sittipunt, an independent candidate, leads the race with 72.35% of the vote. Trailing behind in second place is Ms. Mallika Boonmeetrakul Mahasuk, also an independent candidate, with 9.6%, followed by Mr. Chaiwat Sathavorawichit of the People's Party at 8.8%.
Further down the list, Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri of the Democrat Party garnered 3.1%, while 2.7% of respondents remain unsure of their choice. Mom Luang Korkasivath Kasemsri, another independent candidate, received 1.35%, with the remaining 2.1% distributed among candidates such as Mr. Samai Lalerd, Pol. Lt. Gen. Charntep Sesavej of the Economic Party, and Mr. Pasapong Chaiwirinyavanich, among others.
The survey also assessed voter inclination for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council elections. It found that 32.85% of voters favored independent candidates, while 27.8% supported the People's Party. The Democrat Party attracted 12.3% of the vote, with 8.6% of respondents still undecided. The Working Team, Pheu Thai Life Group, and Better Bangkok Team received 7.3%, 6.85%, and 1.35%, respectively. Additionally, 1.15% indicated they would abstain, and 1.8% considered other options, including the Economic Party, the Nong Khaem Development Group, or the possibility of not voting at all.
