Chelsea Signs Veteran Striker Danny Welbeck on Two-Year Contract

Bangkok: Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign veteran striker Danny Welbeck, 35, from Brighton on a short-term two-year contract, which extends until 2028. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso noted the deal, highlighting Welbeck's quality and leadership as key factors in the decision to bring him on board. He is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding and enhancing the young attacking line at Chelsea.

According to Thai News Agency, Welbeck achieved a career-high goalscoring record in the most recent Premier League season (2025/26), netting 13 goals.
