Bangkok: Wang Thonglang police have taken a group of Chinese nationals to court for operating an illegal poker gambling den in the Wang Thonglang area. Following the court proceedings, the individuals were forwarded to the Immigration Bureau for visa revocation and subsequent deportation. According to Thai News Agency, the incident unfolded today at 4:00 p.m. at the Wang Thonglang Police Station, where Pol. Col. Jessada Yangnok, Superintendent of Wang Thonglang Police Station, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Marut Kaewprasit, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation), and Pol. Lt. Jidapha Kerdmiphochon, Deputy Inspector (Investigation), led the investigation. The Chinese suspects were brought before the Phra Nakhon Nuea District Court on charges of 'jointly organizing illegal gambling (poker) / jointly gambling (poker) and gambling for property without permission.' The court's ruling focused on Mr. Yuan Jinhuan, aged 44, of Chinese nationality, and Ms. Lin Liang-Yan, aged 27, of Taiwanese nationality, who were charged with jointly organizing illegal gambling activities. The court imposed a fine of 3,000 baht on the bookmaker responsible for organizing the gambling. Meanwhile, the remaining 18 suspects were fined 1,000 baht each. Subsequently, Wang Thonglang Police Station officers transferred the 16 Chinese suspects to Division 3, Investigation Division, Immigration Bureau (Suan Phlu Detention Room) for further action. The authorities are considering revoking the stay permits of the aliens in the Kingdom and deporting them to their country of origin. Additionally, there is a proposal to blacklist these individuals, making them prohibited from re-entering the Kingdom in accordance with the Immigration Bureau's regulations.
