Sikhiu: "Prasert" rapidly responded to the emergency where a construction crane fell onto a train in Sikhiu. The incident occurred during a campaign rally for the Pheu Thai Party in Nakhon Ratchasima province when a crane for the high-speed rail project collapsed onto a moving train near Ban Thanon Khod, Si Khiew Subdistrict, Si Khiew District, Nakhon Ratchasima province. This tragic event led to a fire and derailment, resulting in injuries and fatalities.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Prasert Chantharawongthong, the Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party and the representative for Nakhon Ratchasima province, swiftly arrived at the scene. He coordinated the rescue operations, ensuring the injured were transported to Sikhiu Hospital. A relief center was immediately set up to assist those affected by the incident.
Efforts are also being made to provide temporary accommodations for stranded passengers as they await contact from their relatives. Additionally, coordination with the State Railway of Thailand is ongoing to release the names of the deceased and injured, facilitating easier communication for relatives seeking information about passengers on the impacted train.
