Bangkok: The Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police has instructed traffic police to focus on the train-bus collision site at the Asoke-Din Daeng railway crossing. During his visit, he emphasized the need for increased vigilance and the integration of technology to prevent future incidents.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatch Wongsonga, the Deputy Commander of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police, conducted an inspection at the site and directed traffic police to give special attention to the area. He coordinated efforts with the station master to monitor train schedules and ensure smooth traffic flow, aiming to prevent vehicles from ignoring crossing signals. Additionally, he tasked the Deputy Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 1 with assessing the compatibility of the traffic light system with railway signals.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatch Wongsonga acknowledged the current lack of manpower and stated that technology, including CCTV cameras and detection systems, would be employed to enhance law enforcement and avert any similar incidents in the future.
