Bangkok: Din Daeng District reveals that the inspection of the water source on Pracha Songkhro Road has been completed, and the Public Works Department has repaired the damage and reopened the road to normal traffic.
According to Thai News Agency, the Din Daeng District Office reported the results of an investigation into the appearance of air bubbles on the surface of Pracha Songkhro Road, in front of The Prom Din Daeng shopping mall. The investigation, conducted in conjunction with the Department of Public Works, the Department of Drainage, and other relevant agencies, focused on determining the detailed cause of the phenomenon.
The inspection revealed that a 2.5-meter manhole cover belonging to the Drainage Department was buried beneath the surface of Prachasongkhro Road. The air bubbles were caused by increased water pressure inside the pipe and manhole, forcing air up through the road surface joints.
The inspection revealed no further cracks or subsidence in the road surface or underground structures.
The Public Works Department has completed the repair and asphalting of the manhole covers, restoring the road surface and reopening the route to normal traffic. Meanwhile, the Drainage Department will raise the edges of the drainage manholes to be level with the road surface to prevent similar problems in the future.
