According to Thai News Agency, on the morning of October 31, 2015, reporters from the Thai-Cambodian border area in Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province, noted that officers from the Burapha Task Force deployed forces to inspect areas around Ban Nong Chan and Ban Nong Ya Kaew. Drones were used to continuously survey the border to monitor any movements on the Cambodian side. This action followed reports that on the evening of October 30, a group of Cambodians from Ban Nong Ya Kaew had gathered and appeared to be observing the Thai side.
From aerial images obtained by drones from the Burapha Force this morning, the border area remains calm and orderly, with no new Cambodian groups or unusual movements detected. Meanwhile, on the Cambodian side, military personnel remain stationed along the border fence, with some continuing to use binoculars and communication devices to report movements to their superiors.
In the border areas of Nong Chan and Nong Ya Kaeo villages, most Cambodians are continuing their daily lives as usual, including going to work, harvesting crops, and traveling within the village. There are no signs of tension or increased gatherings. Officials from the Eastern Task Force revealed that after receiving reports of Cambodian movements this evening, the unit has intensified patrols in the area, particularly during the morning and evening, when border movements are common. They have also deployed patrols in conjunction with local task force units to prevent any unforeseen incidents.
The border situation in Khok Sung District remains peaceful, with no confrontations or clashes between citizens of both countries. Officials from all sides continue to closely monitor the situation, particularly from noon to evening today, when further opposing movements may be necessary.
