Efforts to Drain Flood Water and Clear Debris in Lat Krabang Intensify

Bangkok:Efforts are underway to drain floodwater from the Rom Klao housing estate in Lat Krabang and address garbage collection issues following the installation of high-pressure water pumps. Officials are working urgently to remove debris as the stagnant water begins to emit a foul odor.

According to Thai News Agency, the situation at Keha Rom Klao in Lat Krabang District has become critical after eight days of flooding. The water, which is littered with floating garbage, is directly affecting residents. Authorities have installed four high-pressure water pumps near the bridge over Khlong Nueng to expedite drainage into the main canal. Initially, the water level was between 100-150 centimeters but has now decreased to 20-30 centimeters due to the continuous operation of the pumps.

Currently, the focus is on pumping water from within the community into Khlong Nueng canal and subsequently into Khlong Prawet Buriram to efficiently remove it from the area. Despite some overheating issues, the number of operational pumps has been increased to four to enhance drainage efforts.

Alongside water pumping, officials are addressing garbage removal to prevent disruptions in drainage efficiency. Floating garbage has been spotted throughout the Rom Klao housing estate and on dry roads. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has deployed yellow flat-bottomed boats and sieves to collect debris from the water.
