Bangkok,, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group) updated the progress of the Yunlin offshore wind farm project in Taiwan, which has successfully installed all 80 wind turbine monopiles. It reaffirmed its confidence that by the end of 2024, the construction will be completed and all electricity will be supplied to the grid, with a total generating capacity of 640 megawatts. When the project is completed, it will generate income and strengthen EGCO Group's cash flow continuously. Dr. Jiraporn Sirikham, President of EGCO Group, revealed that the Yunlin Project has made significant progress, successfully installing the Monopiles, the most challenging part of the project, ahead of schedule. In addition, the construction and installation of other equipment is proceeding according to plan, reflecting the cooperation of all parties involved in the project management and efficient construction planning. EGCO Group is confident that with the commitment of all partners to support the transition to clean energy and the continuous support from the Taiwanese government in all aspects, it will help drive the construction of the remaining part of the Yunlin Project, which is currently 56 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) have been installed, and another 24 WTGs will be installed according to plan, totaling 80 units, with a combined capacity of 640 megawatts by the end of this year. When the project is completed, it is expected to generate an average cash flow of 2,000 million baht per year for EGCO Group during the first 5 years of the project. EGCO Group holds a 26.56% stake in the Yunlin Project, with a total capacity of 640 megawatts, located in the Taiwan Strait, approximately 8-30 kilometers west of the coast of Yunlin County, Taiwan, and covering a total area of ??approximately 90 square kilometers. It has a 20-year power purchase agreement with Taipower (Taiwan Power Company). Currently, commercial wind turbines have an average capacity factor of over 40%, confirming their potential for future income g eneration. When the Yunlin Project is completed by the end of this year, it will be one of the largest offshore wind farms in Taiwan and will be able to generate clean electricity for more than 600,000 Taiwanese households.
