Bangkok: The Election Commission's investigation committee has summoned another 22 senators to provide explanations, adding to a total of 127 individuals implicated in a collusion case. This marks the issuance of subpoenas for the fifth batch of senators linked to alleged misconduct in the selection process.
According to Thai News Agency, the 26th Investigation and Inquiry Committee of the Election Commission has specifically called upon these 22 senators to acknowledge and clarify the charges against them. The individuals summoned include Ms. Chudarat Nilprem, Ms. Chiaranai Tangkirati, Ms. Mayuree Phothisaen, Ms. Charunee Rukkpranee, Ms. Sukanlaya Prachuapmoh, Mr. Kittiphan Anantakuljirachot, Mr. Thanapat Tuangwilai, Ms. Phawana Wong-amornnithi, Mr. Kampol Supaphaeng, Mr. Phisit Apiwattanapong, and Mr. Akkharawin Khamkhud.
The list continues with Ms. Tharanee Pridasan, Ms. Rachana Phuemphun, Ms. Punnapha Jindapong, Mr. Narong Chitracha, Mr. Thanachai Saejueng, Mr. Palawat Tansiri, Mr. Kampol Thongchiu, Mr. Thatchayanat Chiarathanatkanon, Mr. Noppadol Phingsakun, Mr. Pornperm Thongsri-brother of Mr. Songsak Thongsri, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party and Deputy Minister of the Interior-and Mr. Supachai Tiewcharoensopa.
Of the senators summoned by the investigation and inquiry committee, they have been divided into five groups. The first group consisted of 55 people, the second group had 10, the third group had 24, the fourth group included 16, and the fifth group presently involves 22 individuals, bringing the total to 127 senators facing allegations.
