Bangkok: The Erawan Hotel Foundation has made a significant contribution to public health by donating funds and medical equipment to 60 organizations and hospitals across Thailand, amounting to a total of 204.94 million baht. This substantial donation was presented by the foundation's Chairman, Mr. Pakung Techasarin.
According to Thai News Agency, the funds used for this donation were collected from donation boxes located at the Erawan Shrine, a prominent site at the Ratchaprasong intersection in Bangkok. The funds, originally intended for the shrine's restoration, were redirected to purchase medical equipment following the completion of the restoration, in accordance with the foundation's longstanding tradition since 1969.
In August 1993, a dedicated fund within the foundation was established, supported by benevolent donations. The interest generated from this fund is exclusively used for public health initiatives. As of June 2026, the fund boasted 1,087 donors and a cumulative total of 1,136,658,629.86 baht.
The Erawan Hotel Foundation has, over the years, donated funds and medical equipment to a total of 1,648 hospitals and charitable organizations. This recent donation brings the foundation's total contributions to an impressive 3,394,398,419.92 baht, underscoring its continued commitment to enhancing public health services in Thailand.
