Bangkok: “Big Pom” has refrained from criticizing the government’s efforts in managing the flood relief operations, as he coordinates with the 4th Army Region to provide assistance. The Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) has taken proactive measures by opening kitchens in the southern region to support those affected until the situation improves.
According to Thai News Agency, General Prawit Wongsuwan, who serves as a party-list MP and leads the Palang Pracharath Party, has extended his support to the flood-stricken residents of the southern provinces. He announced the establishment of a food pantry in the region and has been in contact with Lt. Gen. Narathip Poynok, Commander of the Fourth Army Region, along with local business operators, to aid the flood victims.
When questioned about his perspective on the government’s management of the flooding, General Prawit chose to withhold his comments, stating that the responsibility lies with the government.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Piya Tawichai, the spokesperson for the Palang Pracharath Party, elaborated on the party’s efforts, noting that General Prawit is deeply concerned for the welfare of the southern residents. In response, the party has set up eight Palang Pracharath kitchens across the affected areas: two in Songkhla Province, two in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, and one each in Trang, Pattani, and Narathiwat Provinces. These kitchens have been operational since the onset of the floods and will continue to provide support until the flood situation stabilizes.
