Bangkok: The government is accelerating the implementation of 24-hour welfare centers, integrating AI and social media to identify vulnerable groups in communities and ensure critical cases are immediately reported to officials. Lieutenant Colonel Patthadarasmi Thongslueykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the government has transformed the operations of the Accelerated Welfare Management Center (AWMC), under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, into a "Happiness Center" that helps vulnerable groups access government welfare more easily and quickly, and provides effective 24-hour assistance.
According to Thai News Agency, the 1300 hotline has been upgraded to be more efficient, with improved database connectivity for more accurate identity verification. The number of staff handling calls has been increased to 30, and an intelligent voicemail system has been added to allow staff to contact you back later. Furthermore, the reporting of incidents through the Traffy Fondue platform is being expanded for immediate case transfer. In addition, AI is being used to assist in researching complex procedures, and a Social Monitoring system is being used to detect social issues on platforms such as Facebook, X, TikTok, and Pantip. If a critical (high-risk) situation is detected, the system will immediately send an alert to management and staff in the area, reducing response times to 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Captain Patthadarasmi further revealed that the rescue operation will cover 24 hours a day, with rapid response units cooperating with local community networks to search for vulnerable groups who may have been overlooked in communities. Clear guidelines have been established: urgent cases (dark red and red) must receive immediate assistance or within 24 hours; yellow urgent cases must be handled within 48 hours; and general green cases must be handled within 72 hours.
This proactive approach to social welfare policy aims to assure the public that no one will be left behind, that all assistance will be fair, and that everyone will have equal access to government welfare services.
