Bangkok: The Government Housing Bank (GHB) has announced immediate financial relief measures for customers affected by the recent train-bus collision at Makkasan railway crossing, which resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Mahatthana Ampornphisit, Managing Director of GHB, explained that the bank is implementing these measures as part of its commitment to support those impacted by the tragic incident. In an effort to alleviate the financial burden on affected customers, GHB will reduce interest rates to 0.01% per year for those seriously injured, applicable for one year before reverting to the original rate.
In the unfortunate event of death or permanent disability, the bank will extend the 0.01% interest rate for the entire loan term to help bereaved families manage their long-term debt. Affected customers are encouraged to apply for this relief program at any GH Bank branch across the country starting immediately. For further assistance, customers can reach out to the GH Bank Call Center or follow updates on the bank's social media platforms.
