Bangkok: The Director-General of UNESCO, His Excellency Mr. Khaled Ahmed El-Enany Ali Ezz, recently visited Thailand, where he was welcomed by Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, the Minister of Culture, along with executives from the Ministry of Culture. The visit included discussions and a courtesy tour of the National Museum Bangkok.
According to Thai News Agency, the delegation, led by the Director-General of UNESCO, was guided through the museum by key figures such as Mr. Prasop Riangngern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, and Ms. Yutika Isarangkun Na Ayutthaya, Director-General of the Department of Cultural Promotion. The tour showcased significant cultural artifacts starting at the Mahasurasinhanat Building, which features items from World Heritage sites like the Ban Chiang archaeological site and the Si Thep Historical Park, as well as other important artifacts that have been returned from abroad.
The delegation also visited the Royal Chariot Hall, an exhibition reflecting Thai beliefs, art, and royal traditions. During the visit, the Director-General of UNESCO shared insights on museum management and the effective display of artifacts. He emphasized the importance of developing museum personnel's capabilities in both academic and heritage tourism promotion aspects.
