Government Pleased with Smooth Registration of “Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40” Program

Bangkok: The government has expressed satisfaction with the registration process for the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" initiative, which has proceeded without any system crashes.

According to Thai News Agency, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, shared that the registration system for the project has been operating smoothly, encountering only minor issues. The system's stability and efficiency have surpassed previous rounds, with initial registration commencing at 6:00 AM experiencing only slight delays.

Krung Thai Bank addressed these minor issues by enhancing the system's capacity, allowing it to manage over 700,000 transactions per second, a significant increase from the previous capacity of over 300,000 transactions per second. Ms. Ploytalee clarified that the "facial scan failure" problem is unrelated to the entitlement process. Instead, it arises when users activate the Paotang app for the first time or after deleting and reinstalling it. Identity verification can be completed via the e-KYC system at Krung Thai Bank's gray ATM machines or branches nationwide.

For registrants seeing "Waiting for registration results" on their screens, notifications will be sent through the Paotang app or SMS within three days. This group mainly includes individuals who have not previously registered for the Khon La Khrueng Plus program but are now signing up for the Thai Chuay Thai Plus program. Verification of eligibility and conditions is required for this group, which will take some time.

Starting June 1st, the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program will commence, with the government covering 60% of the monthly allowance, equating to 1,000 baht. To access the full amount, citizens must top up 40%, or 667 baht, each month. The government has stipulated that this must be used within the month, with any unused funds being forfeited and not carried over. Throughout the four-month project period, citizens are required to top up 2,667 baht to reach the full 6,667 baht spending limit, as stated by Ms. Ploytalee.
