Bangkok: MEA and MEAei organized the Healthcare Excellence and Sustainability 2026 seminar to upgrade hospital energy management in line with ESG and Net Zero initiatives. MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority), in collaboration with MEAei, hosted the seminar at the Harmony 2 Room, M¶venpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok. Ms. Patra Suwannadej, Deputy Governor of MEA, led the opening ceremony, alongside Mr. Kanathip Saphanthuphong and Mr. Kittisak Chuechanthanasak, Assistant Governors of MEA. The seminar aimed to bolster knowledge of energy management in hospitals and healthcare facilities, emphasizing improvements in energy efficiency, the stability of electricity systems, and support for sustainable organizational development aligned with ESG and Net Zero targets.
According to Thai News Agency, the seminar was designed to aid the Thai public health sector in gearing up for Thailand's evolution into a global health hub. Energy serves as a vital infrastructure directly affecting the continuity of medical services, patient safety, operational costs, and the competitive future of hospitals amid challenges such as fluctuating energy costs, the shift to clean energy, and international greenhouse gas emission reduction mandates. The event also featured exhibition booths displaying educational content and innovations, including Plug me EV, MEA Better Care Plus, MEAei services, and green electricity pricing.
The Deputy Governor of MEA emphasized that energy is a critical infrastructure for hospitals and healthcare facilities, significantly impacting patient safety, service continuity, and operational efficiency. She noted that efficient energy management goes beyond cost reduction, establishing a strategic foundation to support future medical technologies and organizational adaptability to change across all dimensions.
