Khun yuam: Heavy rain lashed Khun Yuam district, forcing officials to carry a patient on their backs through floodwaters in a highly difficult operation. A team from the Mae Ki Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Khun Yuam District, Mae Hong Son, had to painstakingly carry a patient on their backs out of the area after heavy rains cut off roads.
According to Thai News Agency, the road was cut off, trees had fallen, and there were landslides, but the image you see here shows a rescue team from the Mae Ki Subdistrict Administrative Organization carrying a sick child on their backs. The rescue was difficult, involving crossing water, mud, and trees, before they handed the child over to the Khun Yuam team for further treatment at Khun Yuam Hospital.
Heavy rain that continued throughout the day and night caused trees to fall and block Highway 108, making it impassable for all types of vehicles near Wat Ban Hang Pon, Muang Pon Subdistrict, Khun Yuam District, Mae Hong Son Province. Mr. Waritchat Panachoo, the District Chief of Khun Yuam, led officials in clearing the fallen trees and landslides blocking the road to reopen it. The road was reopened to normal traffic at 11:50 PM.
On a section of Road No. 1337, Khun Yuam - Ban Mae Ki, Mae Ki Subdistrict, branching off from Highway No. 108 approximately 500 meters from the bridge over the Yuam River, all types of vehicles are impassable due to soil from the mountain and large trees. Large machinery is needed to clear the area. Currently, the Mae Ki Subdistrict Administrative Organization has brought in excavators to clear the obstructions from the road.
As water levels in the Yuam River rise and overflow into agricultural areas along the banks in Mae La Luang Subdistrict, Mae Lan Noi District, Mae Hong Son Province, since last night, relevant authorities have warned and urged residents living along the Yuam River to closely monitor the situation as rainfall continues in the area.
