Hong kong: The Hong Kong Police Force and the Independent Commission Against Corruption in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China have announced the indictment of seven individuals and two companies on 25 charges, including negligent homicide, in connection with a fire that consumed a residential complex in Dapu in November 2025.
According to Thai News Agency, the charges involve the director of the consulting firm responsible for overseeing the building repair project at the time of the fire, a registered inspector, and the director of the main contractor for the repair project. They, along with two other companies, face allegations of negligence resulting in death. The defendants are also accused of conspiracy to defraud, money laundering, attempted obstruction of justice, and tax evasion.
The case was presented at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday afternoon, with proceedings postponed until September 2 at the prosecutors' request for further investigation.
