Israel Launches First Hydrogen-Powered Bus with Chinese Technology

Baku:Israel has unveiled its first hydrogen-powered bus, marking a significant upgrade to its public transport system aimed at achieving zero emissions. The bus incorporates advanced fuel cell technology from China, offering a maximum range of 600 kilometers and the ability to be refueled in less than 5 minutes.

According to Xinhua News Agency, Israel's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has officially launched the country's first hydrogen-powered buses. This initiative represents a major step towards cleaner transportation systems and the promotion of hydrogen technology in Israel.

The project aims to evaluate the potential of hydrogen fuel cells in the transportation sector, particularly for large vehicles that require long-distance travel and rapid refueling. The Audace 1050 bus is a collaborative effort between Allenbus, a Chinese automotive technology developer, and Marcopolo, a Brazilian bus body manufacturer. Allenbus supplied the hydrogen powertrain system and managed the engineering, while Marcopolo handled the body design, vehicle structure, and interior finishing.

Featuring core Chinese energy technology, the bus includes a high-pressure hydrogen storage tank that supports long-distance travel and a high-voltage battery system developed by CATL, a major Chinese automotive battery manufacturer. The fuel cell system of the bus emits only pure water.

This initiative is part of the Israeli government's broader efforts to develop hydrogen infrastructure, promote alternative energy technologies, and reduce emissions from public transportation.
