Suk sawat: A jealous husband strangled his Myanmar wife to death in their apartment in the Suk Sawat area, confessing to the crime due to suspicions of infidelity. Their child revealed he had threatened to kill her several times before.
According to Thai News Agency, the Rat Burana Police Station received a report last night of a woman found dead inside a room in a two-story apartment building on Soi Suk Sawat 52, Rat Burana Subdistrict and District. Inside a room on the first floor, they found the body of Ms. Nan Kyin, 41, a Myanmar national, lying dead on the bed. She was wearing a white shirt and brown trousers. Her face was bluish-green, and there were clear signs of strangulation around her neck. There were no signs of a struggle or ransacking in the room. Nearby, Mr. Wichin Ta, 45, the deceased's husband, was found sitting in the room, appearing confused and speaking incoherently. He was taken to the Rat Burana Police Station for further questioning.
Mr. Sai Kwan Ke, 23, the son of the deceased, provided information stating that after returning home from work at around 8:30 PM, he found his mother lying face down with two layers of blankets covering her body. He then uncovered her body and noticed that it was turning blue and unresponsive. Upon turning her over, he realized she was dead.
The son also provided information that the perpetrator had physically abused his mother several times in the past, stemming from jealousy and suspicions about an affair. Although he had taken his mother to the hospital on several occasions, including when she suffered a broken nose and numerous bruises, she never filed a police report.
The victim's 21-year-old daughter, Ms. Nan Shan Long, stated that her parents had been arguing about jealousy for a long time. Her father frequently accused her mother of having affairs and had physically abused her on several occasions, even when intoxicated. She also confirmed that the perpetrator had often threatened to kill her mother.
Police later brought Mr. Wichin back to the scene of the crime. He confessed to committing the crime, admitting that he strangled his wife to death, covered her body with two blankets, turned off the lights in the room, and pretended that nothing had happened until his son returned and discovered the body.
Mr. Wichin confessed that the reason for the crime was his belief that his wife was unfaithful to him. He claimed to have felt suspicious for a long time before strangling his wife until she was motionless. He then arranged her body to look like she was asleep and rested in the room as usual.
Initially, authorities sent the deceased's body for a thorough autopsy at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Siriraj Hospital. Meanwhile, the suspect has been taken into custody for further investigation at the Rat Burana Police Station before legal proceedings are initiated.
