Nakhon Ratchasima:As the transition from the rainy season to the cool season begins, Kaeng Tha Rerai in Khon Buri District, Nakhon Ratchasima, emerges as an ideal spot for swimming, fishing, and enjoying fresh fish. The area benefits from water flowing in from Thap Lan National Park, creating a picturesque and popular swimming location for both locals and tourists.
According to Thai News Agency, Kaeng Tha Rerai is situated near the community forest at the end of Taling Chan village. The convergence of water from Thap Lan National Park and the community forest forms a stream that cascades through intricate rock formations, making it a favored spot for swimming.
With the rainy season coming to a close, the water in the Tha Rerai rapids is clear and clean, offering a refreshing swimming experience amidst natural beauty. The area is also known as a fishing spot, providing a source of food for the local community. The influx of floodwaters into the Mun Bon reservoir after the rainy season encourages a variety of freshwater fish, such as tilapia and white fish, to swim upstream, making it an excellent location for casting nets.
Villagers often utilize small fishing gear to catch fresh fish, which they then enjoy by the riverbank. Despite its appeal, Kaeng Tha Rerai remains relatively unknown and lacks cell phone reception. Overnight stays are not permitted due to the presence of wildlife such as wild elephants. Access is restricted to daylight hours for safety reasons, and visitors are advised to seek guidance from community leaders before visiting.
