Bangkok: Kla Tham, a political activist group, is actively involved in the case of a father accused of sexually abusing his 12-year-old daughter. The group is opposing bail and is committed to ensuring that violence against children does not go unpunished.
According to Thai News Agency, Petty Officer 1st Class Yotsing Liemlert, a Member of Parliament for Chachoengsao Constituency 4 and Deputy Leader of the Kla Tham Party, along with Mr. Chaiwat Paopeamsap, MP for Chachoengsao Constituency 3, visited Bang Pakong District to follow up on the case. The swift response from the Kla Tham Party followed a request for help from the victim's family. The case advanced promptly due to the cooperation between Petty Officer Yotsing, Ms. Paveena Hongsakul, and Police Colonel Bandhit Thammanan, Superintendent of Bang Pakong Police Station. The father, now under arrest, is scheduled to appear in court with a request to deny bail, preventing potential interference with the victim or evidence.
The compensation process for the victims is under the supervision of Ms. Jipaporn Tamchu Krisanasuwan, Director of OFACC, along with Ms. Benyapha Thongsammrit, Mrs. Piyanaat Poolpipat, and Mr. Panupol Thongdee, who are coordinating efforts to ensure the victims receive necessary support. The aim is to rehabilitate the children mentally and provide ongoing assistance to the family until they can resume normal life.
Petty Officer Yotsing emphasized the societal impact of such incidents, highlighting that home should be a sanctuary for children, not a place of fear. He urged society not to overlook child abuse and to intervene when noticing signs of danger.
