Lion Dance Troupe Leader Arrested After Fatal Shooting Incident

Bangkok: A lion dance troupe leader, intoxicated and acting aggressively, fired a gun into the air, fatally shooting and seriously injuring two neighbors. Late last night, a shooting occurred in Soi Somdej Phra Chao Taksin 42, Daokhanong Subdistrict. At the scene, Ms. Pornnapa Sridee was found unconscious in front of her house, shot under her left chin with the bullet lodged inside. Emergency personnel attempted CPR, but due to multiple critical injury points, they were unable to save her life. Nearby, two other injured individuals were found: her youngest daughter and her husband, both shot in the right cheek with the bullet exiting the left side. Both were transported to the hospital.

According to Thai News Agency, the eldest daughter recounted that her mother was drinking in front of the house when a drunken man fired a gun into the air. Her mother went out to ask why he was firing, which angered the perpetrator, who then shot her mother in a vital area and her younger sister in the cheek, causing serious injuries. The family intends to pursue the matter to the fullest extent. Recently, police at Bukkhalo Police Station arrested the suspect, identified as Mr. Lek, the leader of a lion dance troupe, along with a .22 caliber firearm. He is currently under investigation and will be prosecuted according to the law.
