Luxury Home Invasion Leads to Cryptocurrency Theft of 30 Million Baht

Nong Prue:Police are actively searching for three suspects involved in a home invasion at a luxury residence, where they forced the victim to transfer cryptocurrency and stole assets worth nearly 30 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident took place around 3 AM on October 6th in the Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. The suspects reportedly used a ladder to climb over a fence and entered the house. They threatened a foreign national with a gun, forcing them to open a safe and hand over valuables.

The stolen assets included approximately 150,000 baht in cash and three Rolex watches. The suspects also coerced the victim into transferring cryptocurrency from their digital wallet, amounting to approximately US$820,000 or about 27 million baht.

After the ordeal, the victim escaped and reported the incident to the Nong Prue Police Station. In response, senior police officials, including Pol. Lt. Gen. Wasan Techakaraksem and Pol. Maj. Gen. Chatree Sukhsiri, visited the crime scene to oversee the investigation. They collaborated with the Immigration Bureau and the Police Forensic Science Division to collect fingerprints and forensic evidence, as well as check the suspects' travel records.

Investigators are currently examining CCTV footage along the suspects' escape route and tracking financial transactions related to the stolen digital assets to expand the investigation and apprehend the suspects.
