These two players have met once before in the first round of the WTA 125 Hong Kong tournament, where Mananchaya emerged victorious in a tight match, winning 2-1 sets (5-7, 6-3, and 6-4).
In the first set of their Wimbledon encounter, Mananchaya broke serve in the very first game. Although she was broken back in the eighth game, she managed to break again in the eleventh game before holding her own serve to claim the first set 7-5.
The second set saw Mananchaya dominate the court, breaking serve in games 1, 3, and 5 to secure a convincing 6-0 victory. The match concluded with Mananchaya defeating Alicia Parks in straight sets, 2-0 (7-5, 6-0), in just 1 hour and 9 minutes.
This achievement makes her the second Thai female tennis player to reach the third round of Wimbledon, following Tamarine Tanasugarn, and the third Thai woman to reach the third round of a major tournament, after Tamarine and Laksika Kumkhum. In the upcoming third round, Mananchaya will face the winner of the match between Karolna Muh³v¡, world number 9 and the 10th seed from the Czech Republic, and Zhang Shuai, world number 64 from China. She is already assured of prize money amounting to £185,000, or approximately 8.2 million baht.
