Abu dhabi: The Minister of Labour has directed the labour attach© to maintain vigilant oversight of the situation involving Thai workers amidst the ongoing unrest in Iran. The minister emphasized that, at present, Thai workers are reported to be safe and evacuation is not immediately necessary.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Treenuch Thianthong, the Minister of Labour, has tasked the Labour Attach© at the Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with the responsibility of closely monitoring the status of Thai workers in Iran. It has been initially confirmed that 38 Thai workers remain unharmed by the current governmental protests. Coordination is already in place to facilitate their evacuation should the need arise.
The Labour Attach© has taken proactive measures by issuing advisories to Thai workers, urging them to exercise heightened caution during travel and to steer clear of protest areas. They have been advised against participating in demonstrations for their own safety. Workers are encouraged to stay informed through updates provided by the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran and the Labour Attach© in Abu Dhabi, as well as from Iranian government agencies. Currently, there are no reports indicating that Thai workers are involved in or affected by the protests.

Alternatively, workers can reach out to the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran at the provided contact numbers, or utilize the emergency contact lines for the Labour Protection Division, Department of Consular Affairs, and the Department of Consular Affairs Call Center, which operates 24 hours a day. Assistance can also be requested through the THAI CONSULAR application.
