Ministry of Transport Extends Air Navigation Fee Reduction Amid Middle East Impact

Bangkok: The Ministry of Transport continues to assist airlines as instructed by Mr. Phatarapong. Aeronautical Radio of Thailand extends the 30% reduction in air navigation service fees for another two months.

According to Thai News Agency, the government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, remains committed to supporting the Thai aviation sector in light of ongoing unrest in the Middle East, which has affected energy costs and airline operations. Mr. Pattarapong Pattaraprasit, Deputy Minister of Transport, has directed the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd. (AeroThai) to extend measures aimed at alleviating cost burdens and improving liquidity for airline operators.

The Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AROT) board, on June 24, 2026, approved the extension of assistance measures for an additional two months, from July to August 2026. This initiative includes a 30% reduction in air navigation service fees for domestic flights, with an extended payment period whereby airlines can pay 50% of the service fees as scheduled and defer the remaining payment by 30 days.

Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, emphasized that these measures are designed to mitigate cost pressures, particularly those associated with fluctuating fuel costs. Additionally, the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AROT) is set to enhance air traffic management efficiency, reduce delays, ensure efficient use of time and fuel, and maintain safety standards on all flights.
