Bangkok: Myanmar's Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has concluded his five-day official visit to China, with both sides pledging to further strengthen friendly and fraternal ties and enhance cooperation in various sectors.
According to Thai News Agency, this trip marks his first official visit to China since assuming the presidency and coincides with the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. After completing his duties in Beijing and Shanghai, the Myanmar leader traveled to Hangzhou in eastern China to visit leading Chinese robotics technology companies and a new materials science development company in the area.
During this visit, China and Myanmar jointly issued a joint statement on accelerating the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Myanmar. The statement called for the continuation of good relations, focusing on mutually beneficial cooperation, promoting the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, and expanding cooperation on regional and global platforms.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized China's continued assistance to Myanmar following the earthquake, facilitating quarantine measures for agricultural products, and cooperation in combating transnational crime. Meanwhile, both sides also signed several cooperation documents covering transportation, human resource development, public health, media, and science and technology.
