North carolina: Norway is transporting 1 ton of food to nourish its national team players for the World Cup. The Norwegian national football team has brought over 1,000 kilograms of national dishes, including 300 kilograms of fish, to fuel their training camp in North Carolina, USA, ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
According to Thai News Agency, to ensure that superstar players like Erling Haaland and Martin €š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬¹‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬¦€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬¦€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦€š¬…€œdegaard were able to eat familiar foods and maintain perfect nutritional standards, the Norwegian Football Association had prepared a supply consisting of 300-500 kilograms of fish and seafood, mainly Atlantic salmon and white fish; 116 kilograms of brown goat cheese, a unique Norwegian caramel-flavored local cheese; and 6,000 oranges to provide vitamins and freshness to the players. Three chefs, including Aaron Esperland, an Olympic culinary gold medalist, were on hand to prepare four meals a day.
The reason the Norwegian national team brought their own food is because a sudden change in diet abroad could cause players constipation, diarrhea, or difficulty sleeping, impacting recovery. Furthermore, European food standards are stricter than those in the US, so the Norwegian football team wanted to avoid highly processed foods and those contaminated with chemicals locally. Additionally, this was to boost morale and provide a psychological advantage for the players, as this was Norway's first time competing in the final qualifying round in 28 years since 1998, and the team wanted to avoid any risks related to food.
Norway is in Group I along with France, Senegal, and Iraq. They had an excellent start to their campaign, defeating Iraq 4-1. Their next match is against Senegal at 7:00 AM tomorrow morning, our time.
