Udon Thani: Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission confirms that Udon Thani Secondary Educational Service Area Office has hired assistant teachers according to regulations, emphasizing transparency and accountability after a letter was submitted requesting an investigation. According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Col. Thanu Wongchinda, Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), revealed that a group of reporters from Udon Thani and Nong Bua Lamphu provinces met with the Deputy Governor of Udon Thani and submitted a letter to various authorities. These included the Director of the Udon Thani Provincial Ombudsman Center, the Director of the Office of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) in Udon Thani Province, and the President of the STRONG Club, Sufficiency Economy, Anti-Corruption, Udon Thani Province. The letter called for an investigation into the recruitment process of several assistant teachers in the Health and Physical Education majo r at the same school, which was suspected of lacking transparency. From the fact-finding investigation, the Office of the Basic Education Commission confirmed that the information received did not support the claims of impropriety. Lt. Col. Thanu Wongchinda and Mr. Prawit Erawan, Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission, verified the recruitment procedures at Nong Han Witthaya School and the Udon Thani Secondary Educational Service Area Office. They concluded that the recruitment was conducted in compliance with the personnel quota criteria established by the Office of the Basic Education Commission. In light of this, all Provincial Educational Administration Service Offices (PEASOs) have been urged to adhere strictly to regulations with a focus on transparency and accountability. This measure aims to benefit the government and foster continued public confidence in educational recruitment processes.
