Pak Chong: The killer of his wife, whose body was discovered in a house in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province late last year, has been arrested. He is currently being held for a reenactment of the crime.
According to Thai News Agency, the suspect, Mr. Bancha, 51, fled to Khon Kaen Province after the crime and was captured at a karaoke bar following a disturbance. The bar owner reported the incident to the police, who discovered an outstanding arrest warrant for him. Mr. Bancha confessed to assaulting his wife, Ms. Sinuan, 49, leading to her death in their home in Tambon Khanong Phra, Amphoe Pak Chong. Security footage captured his escape on the evening of November 11th last year.
In the latest development, authorities have brought Mr. Bancha back to the crime scene for a reenactment of his confession. The event attracted relatives of the deceased and local villagers who, in their anger, attempted to attack Mr. Bancha, prompting officers to intervene. The reenactment lasted approximately 20 minutes before he was escorted back to Pak Chong Police Station.
Mr. Bancha attributed his actions to jealousy, admitting that he was provoked by his wife's conversations about other men and was under the influence of alcohol at the time. He claimed he did not intend to cause her death. Following the incident, he covered himself with a blanket and fled, eventually reaching Khon Kaen Province where he sought to sell old items for money. His subsequent disturbance at a karaoke bar led to his arrest when police discovered his warrant for assault resulting in death.
This is not Mr. Bancha's first offense. In 2011, he assaulted an ex-girlfriend fatally in Phetchabun Province and fled to Pak Chong District, where he repeated a similar crime.
