Nonthaburi: The People's Party (PPC) is fielding Decharat Sukkamnerd in the upcoming Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) election, drawing ballot number 4. The party aims to continue the work of the previous mayor, emphasizing education policies and mental health support.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, joined Mr. Decharat as he registered for the PAO chairman election. A group of supporters gathered to cheer for him. Mr. Decharat expressed his acceptance of any ballot number, considering it a symbol of his participation in transforming Nonthaburi. He commenced his campaign by traveling from Pak Kret to Nonthaburi pier in a parade float, planning daily activities to maximize the 30-day campaign period.
Mr. Decharat addressed concerns about competing against a well-established political family, stating that his primary worry was ensuring public awareness of the election date. He urged residents to vote on September 20th, emphasizing the importance of unity and change in Nonthaburi. He encouraged a high voter turnout, regardless of the candidate chosen.
The People's Party's education policy focuses on supporting the mental health of parents, children, and teachers within the first 30 days. Mr. Decharat plans to build on the existing education policies of the previous PAO chairman, identifying areas for improvement such as mental health and stress management. He also intends to promote creative economy initiatives through the "Nonthaburi Dream Hunt" policy, aiming to empower the youth of Nonthaburi.
Mr. Nattapong expressed confidence in the party's candidates and policies, dismissing concerns about repeating the results of the Bangkok gubernatorial election. He emphasized that the people's choice is paramount and that the party's role is to present the best candidates and policies.
