Bangkok: "Jaset" surveyed the flood situation in Nan by helicopter, emphasizing, "The water hasn't receded yet, the mission is not over." Mr. Jetseth Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of Interior (M.3), visited Nan province early this morning. He took a helicopter to survey the flood situation from above, monitoring water levels and assessing affected areas, before traveling to Pua district to visit and encourage the affected people and closely monitor relief efforts in the area.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jetseth also instructed relevant agencies to prepare for the post-flood period, especially the water supply system. This includes urgently inspecting water treatment plants, pumping systems, and distribution systems, as well as preparing personnel and equipment to ensure the system can be restored and clean water supplied immediately or as quickly as possible when the situation permits. Because once the water recedes and people begin returning to their homes, tap water will be essential and readily available.
Mr. Jetseth traveled to Wat Beng Sakat in Pua District, Nan Province, to meet with the Minister of Defence to discuss and coordinate efforts in responding to the flood situation. The discussion particularly focused on the provision of personnel, equipment, and necessary resources to ensure rapid and comprehensive assistance and recovery in the affected areas.
The key approach in this work is to ensure that citizens can return to their lives safely and as quickly as possible. Mr. Jetseth emphasized the need for readiness, stating, "The water hasn't receded yet, the mission isn't over. And when the water recedes, we must be ready for immediate recovery."
