Permanent Secretary Arsit Initiates Investigation Into Alleged Illegal Land Sale

Nakhon Nayok:Bangkok Interior Ministry Permanent Secretary, Arsit Sampanrat, has stated that there is only one truth regarding the allegations of government officials involved in the illegal sale of state land. He emphasized the importance of investigating officials from the Interior Ministry's Office suspected of selling land to the husband of actress Boom Panadda. Arsit confirmed that the Governor of Nakhon Nayok has called in district officers mentioned in the documents for questioning, ensuring that those found guilty will face legal consequences.

According to Thai News Agency, Arsit provided details on the case involving a Ministry of Interior official who allegedly facilitated the sale of land to Ms. Panadda Wongphudee's husband. The individual involved is identified as a former high-ranking official, and an investigative committee has been established under the order of Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms. Arocha Nanthamontri. The committee is expected to present its findings within seven days, and if disciplinary action is warranted, it will proceed accordingly.

The investigation also involves the Department of Provincial Administration, as the name of a village headman appears on the land sale documents. A report is required, and the situation is being closely monitored by the ministry. Although a press conference was initially scheduled by the district chief, it was canceled last minute, and he was subsequently summoned for further inquiry. The Governor of Nakhon Nayok has been informed of the investigation's progress and will take necessary actions based on the findings.

Arsit stressed the need for thorough investigation to ascertain whether crimes have been committed and reiterated that state land under military custody cannot be legally bought or sold. The investigation currently focuses on one individual from the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, with available information to be further scrutinized.
