Phuket: Phuket Airport has clarified the incident involving flight EY 416 experiencing turbulence and making an emergency landing. No injuries were reported, and the incident did not affect airport operations.

According to Thai News Agency, the information circulating online about an Etihad Airways flight, EY 416, en route from Abu Dhabi to Phuket, experiencing turbulence during its flight to Phuket Airport was addressed by the airport authorities. On the morning of January 14th, at 11:00 AM, Phuket Airport's medical staff were alerted by airline personnel regarding the aircraft's encounter with severe turbulence, with the number of injuries initially unknown. The airport promptly prepared for the situation, coordinating with the Narenthorn Emergency Medical Center and its network, arranging aircraft parking bay number 15 for the emergency, and mobilizing fire and rescue personnel along with ground staff to ensure immediate care for passengers and crew.

By 11:50 AM, the aircraft landed safely at Phuket Airport. An initial inspection revealed no injuries from the incident. The event did not disrupt the airport's services or operations. Phuket International Airport emphasizes its commitment to passenger safety and peace of mind, maintaining readiness for emergencies through established plans and regular drills in line with international aviation standards.
