Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira has stated that he is unaware of the establishment of a committee to examine the Prime Minister’s PN tickets. This comes as the Cabinet prepares to discuss a significant budget of 150 billion baht aimed at bolstering the economic driving plan following a decision to postpone the digital wallet initiative.
According to Thai News Agency, Pichai revealed that an economic stimulus plan, under a 157 billion baht budget framework, might be presented at the upcoming cabinet meeting. This follows a decision by the economic stimulus policy committee to delay the 10,000 baht handout project. Pichai is expected to expedite discussions at the cabinet meeting to address these matters.
When questioned about whether the budget would focus on infrastructure investment, Pichai refrained from providing a definitive answer. Additionally, regarding the appointment of a qualified individual to assess taxes or promissory notes (PN) related to Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra’s shareholding, Pichai disclosed that he was not informed about any developments on this front.
