Bangkok: Narcotics police launched an operation to dismantle a red-light district, arresting six Nigerian nationals and seizing 27 grams of cocaine worth 2.5 million baht. Pol. Maj. Gen. Teeradet Thamsuthee, Deputy Commander of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police, led a team of narcotics suppression police and local police in Nonthaburi Province in an operation named "dismantle the dark room." This operation was initiated after the arrest of a key figure in a drug trafficking network known as "Patrick," a Nigerian national, on April 18th. During this arrest, authorities seized 27 grams of cocaine, valued at 2.5 million baht, and uncovered links to a romance scam gang in Nonthaburi.
According to Thai News Agency, the police, armed with a search warrant from the Nonthaburi Provincial Court, raided three luxury condominium rooms in the Sanam Bin Nam area, Bang Krasor Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province. During these operations, six Nigerian men were arrested, and authorities seized three laptops, three bank account books, and 18 mobile phones. The suspects' social media profiles featured images of wealthy foreigners, and messages found on their devices included instructions on how to engage in conversations with older women. These conversations even contained "sensual chat scripts" specifically designed to attract and appeal to these women.
