Nakhon ratchasima: Police in Nakhon Ratchasima raided a school to conduct a "flee, hide, fight" drill, simulating a violent incident and enhancing security for teachers and students. According to Thai News Agency, this exercise showcased a simulated real-life scenario where officers from the Nakhon Ratchasima City Police Station, together with their "Six Man Team" operational unit, joined forces with the administrators, teachers, and staff of Sarasas Witaed Nakhon Ratchasima School to conduct a training and drill on the "Run, Hide, Fight" emergency response plan. This initiative aimed to prepare for potential emergencies and violence within the educational institution.
The training exercises took place both in the morning and afternoon, simulating violent incidents within the school to test the readiness of teachers and staff. This included evaluating the alert system, coordination with the police, and school security arrangements. Through these tests, areas for improvement were identified to ensure a rapid and effective response to emergencies.
During the activity, officials imparted knowledge on survival techniques in emergency or violent situations, emphasizing the principles of 'escaping' dangerous areas when possible, 'hiding' in safe places and blocking exits if escape is impossible, and 'fighting' to defend one's life as a last resort when faced with unavoidable danger. The training and drills were successful, with participants cooperating and following the guidelines without any injuries. Police noted that regular training helps teachers and staff remain calm, make sound decisions, and respond quickly and accurately to situations, minimizing losses should a real incident occur within the school.
